2019 Resolution: I’m 10x’ing Grant Cardone Out of My Life

Ah yes, a new year is only a few hours away, and I am watching social media feeds fill up with 2019 resolutions and goals. People pledging to look at their phone less. Eat Better. Work out more. All the standard resolutions you would expect to see for “New Year New Me”. But this year, I am excited to take a step towards removing the toxicity from my day to day life. This year, I am 10x’ing Grant Cardone’s “Cardone University” out of my life.

GC really wants you to know he “owns” a private jet.

First, my Momma raised me to always say something nice. So, let’s start with why I willingly opened my arms to Cardone University in the first place.

Grant wantedyou to be a better salesman and make more money

If you start at square one in the very disorganized Cardone University with his certification trainings, you will see a bright eyed early 2000’s Grant Cardone in a cheesy suit with a bad haircut. This Grant was genuine in his passion for you to be a better salesman. Grant truly wantedyou to be a better closer, make more money, and have a better life.

SOMEof the messaging was rock solid

“Stop dreaming, get out there and do it”. “Don’t take no for an answer, keep trying”. “Embrace cold calling and beat your competition to the sale”. Messaging like this is exactly what ANY salesperson needs to see and hear repeatedly. Sales is a beat down. It’s easy to get discouraged. As I started my journey through the Cardone University I was hooked enough to keep click through each 90 second video for more.

Did you know GC has a private jet?

But then, I started seeing a pattern. Especially as you got into more current material from Cardone and ESPECIALLY if you start watching Grant’s social media.

Grant Cardone stopped caring about bettering salespeople around the world and started focusing on different avenues he could use to syphon more money out of his pocket into yours.

Fun Fact: If you go look at GC’s IG story, I will bet you $100 he is either telling you about, standing in front of, or sitting inside his private jet.

I started to get turned off when the messaging started including things like “Buy the right clothes, even if you can’t afford them, so you look the part” (I prefer the philosophy of Gary Vaynerchuk with his sneakers and hoody). Or, “Eat at the nicest restaurants, even if you can’t afford it, to ensure you are seen by the right people”. When you are dealing with entry level sales guys, who don’t have a nickel to their name. The LAST thing they need to be doing is over extending themselves on designer clothes and steak lunches. This outlook on “fake it till you make it” is bullshit. (see previous blog post)

Then there are the events. 10x Growth Con. The (self-proclaimed) biggest sales conference in the world. Want a seat? Great! That will be $2500 for a nose-bleed seat. (Though it would appear they are struggling to fill seats, as you can current sign up for as much as 96% off…) Grant has videos on social media telling you that “You aren’t really attending unless you get a VIP seat”. ($14,999 per person)

Which brings me to the main point of why I am 10X’ing Uncle Grant out of my life in 2019. Grant only cares about squeezing as much money as physically possible from each and every person.

Grant doesn’t give a shit about your success or failure in his program. He cares that you are subscribing, buying add-ons, attending the events, etc. The reason his prime customers are MLMs and Car Sales is because his tactics are just as slimy as theirs.

But I digress. Just because someone is allegedly wealthy, does not mean that they are “doing it right”. Doing things with honesty, integrity, and humility is the only way I will continue on my track to influencing and impacting others.
